History and Social Studies

Our social studies classes are fun and engaging. The refined curriculum will give students a better understanding of the world around them, current world issues, and how they relate to each other. History classes are an essential part of our social studies program. Our carefully designed, different-leveled courses fit elementary school, middle school, and high school students’ learning needs. Social studies courses also include reading and writing standards for literacy in history/social studies.

  • US History

US History focuses on developing students’ understanding of American History from colonization until the dawn of the 20th century. In US History, students interpret historical evidence and identify significant trends and major turning points that shape over 300 years of the American experience.

  • World History

This course covers world history from ancient times to the current day – from Africa and beyond; the middle ages across the world; the Renaissance; the Age of Exploration and colonialism, revolutions, and the modern world, along with the wars and movements that shaped it.

  • Elementary Social Studies

The elementary level social studies course provides young students with the basic elements of history, geography, civics, and economics. This course introduces the three branches of the US government. It also highlights past civilizations and reflects on how those societies have impacted our modern culture, politics, social norms, and institutions.
